How will I know if I have the issue?
This code defect exists in all versions of Domino, so everyone has the issue. It is triggered by a server restart –If the servers aren’t restarted the issue will not occur.
What will happen if I restart the servers?
SMTP/External mail will not route properly, and you will see a message that you are likely in a routing loop. In addition, Domino will use only a single mailbox, regardless of what the configuration document calls for, and mail rules will not function.
Is this the result of a malicious attack?
No, this has been part of the existing Domino code for many years but was triggered by yesterday’s date.
Is this the result of new code?
No, this code has been in place since Lotus and IBM were doing development on Domino.
How will it be fixed?
A series of interim fixes will be made available on the download site. Use your normal customer credentials to access the site and download the fixes for the versions you need.
How do I get a Root Cause Analysis?
HCL will publish a technical bulletin with the RCA information.
